Katy Martin

As mainly a Sports Massage Therapist, Katy is keen to enhance movement throughout the body using a variety of techniques tailored to an individual’s needs including: effleurage, petrisage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, tapotement, active release, as well as general stretches and M.E.T’s. These techniques benefit the body by improving circulation of the blood and lymph, as well as improving tissue health through breaking down adhesions and welcoming balance to the body. Katy is also qualified in pregnancy massage which can help a woman relax and relieve aches and pains once in their second or third trimester. Massage not only encourages fluid drainage and improves movement but can have a relaxing effect on both mother and baby. Currently, Katy about to enter her final year as a student at the London School of Osteopathy and enjoys studying and deepening her understanding of the human body. She is also a STOTT Pilates Level 1 Matwork Instructor. Previously, Katy worked as a contemporary dancer and recognises the benefits of massage to benefit physical endurance and performance.

Outside of work and study, Katy rides her bike everywhere; enjoying being outdoors and seeing the city in this way. Katy also practises yoga.
